Jonathan Kay is a jazz/improv & transcultural multi-instrumentalist (saxophone, esraj, shakuhachi), from Toronto, Canada. Inspired by the revolutionary and spiritual cries from John and Alice Coltrane, Jonathan traveled to Asia in search of non-western ways of musical knowing. He has lived in Kolkata for 10 years studying Raga music and studied Japanese shakuhachi music in Kyoto.
